Mercenary Chronicles is a first-person shooter for Android, created on the Unreal Engine 4. This is a non-commercial project that I used to do as a hobby in my free time. The goal of the project was to create and publish a complete game which could be refined, expanded and improved later.

01. About

GAME FEATURES

Aspects of the game, which was given priority attention during the development.

FIRST person shooter

The main idea was to get as close as possible to PC shooters - free view and movement, no auto-targeting.

DIALOGUE SYSTEM

The project has a dialogue system from UnrealGaimeDev. It allows player to better uncover the story through dialogue with the NPC. The system is adapted for ease of use on touchscreens.

INVENTORY, ITEMS

Although such a system is not needed for this shooter, it works and can be more fully used in other projects.

GOAP AI

Goal Oriented Action Planning is an interesting architecture with excellent scalability. With its help, the behavior of AI is implemented, such as using covers or choosing an attack depending on the distance to the enemy.
